The College Federation app bridges the gap between colleges and students through web and mobile access. It caters to faculty and students by streamlining communication (announcements, etc.), resource sharing, attendance tracking, and file exchange. This one-stop shop aims to both improve education and compete with social media. unlike social media, College Federation prioritizes academics. It omits student-to-student chat, profiles, and updates to minimize distractions. The focus is clear: enhance communication between faculty and students in a focused environment. Recognizing variable connectivity, the app even sends SMS alerts for offline students. by fostering academic engagement and providing essential college features, College Federation strives to be the go-to platform for learning, reducing reliance on mainstream social media for crucial updates.
Introduction
I. INTRODUCTION
Social media like WhatsApp consumes students' study time. College activities on such platforms blur the lines between academics and social life. While some colleges have communication apps, others, like government institutions, lack them. This app fills that gap, focusing solely on education. It eliminates distractions by disabling student-to-student chat, profiles, and updates. Colleges without app development resources can benefit from this solution. By separating educational content from social media, this app ensures clear communication between faculty, students, and colleges, strictly for academic purposes.
II. RELATED WORK

[1] Role of social media in education (12 April 2022): his paper explores how social media platforms like YouTube have become valuable tools for both lecturers and students. YouTube facilitates concept learning while platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook bridge communication gaps, leading to a significant increase in their educational use post-COVID.[2] Determining the Impacts of social media on Students’ Mood, Time Management and Academic Activities (2021): This study highlights the detrimental impact of social media addiction on the attention span of today's youth. The study also reveals a negative correlation between social media addiction and academic performance, as those with higher levels of addiction tend to exhibit lower GPAs. [3] Popularity and Usage Analytics of Social Media Platforms in Higher Education (2022): This paper investigates the use of social media by educational institutions for faculty-student communication. III. THE EXISTING SYSTEM
ClassDojo is a mobile app designed for parent-teacher-student communication and student record tracking. It utilizes technologies such as React Native, MySQL, Express, and Socket.io. The key differentiators of my application include offline messaging capabilities, seamless file sharing, and the facilitation of inter-college communications. Additionally, the application employs MongoDB as its database.
Edmodo offers file sharing, attendance tracking, gradebook features, and notifications, utilizing technologies such as ReactJs, Go, Erlang, Cassandra, and RocksDB. Key distinctions in my application include offline messaging, a specific focus on faculty-student communication, and the utilization of React Native, MongoDB, and Express as core technologies.
Slack, provides one-to-one communication with shared content and includes file sharing. It utilizes ReactJs, Go, Erlang, Cassandra, and RocksDB. The major differences compare to college federation are the inclusion of offline messages, a specific focus on faculty-student communication, and the use of React Native, MongoDB, and Express as core technologies.
IV. EVALUATION OF PROSPECTIVE SYSTEM
The architecture of the college federation project is designed with a multi-layered approach to facilitate seamless interactions between users and the system, while efficiently managing tasks. At its core, through the presentation layer, the user interface provides various users such as students, staffs, super admin and college admin can access the various functionalities in the service layer which in return interacts with data access layer providing data available in database. The requested data is passed on from various service layer functionalities to the different layers for the easy user interactions. MongoDB used in database layer.
VI. PROPOSED SOLUTION
Any organization can utilize the proposed system, this mobile app facilitates educational communication exclusively. Student-to-student communication, profile pictures, and status updates are disabled to minimize distractions. Institutions lacking their own app development capabilities can find this a valuable solution.
VII. FUTURE SCOPE
There is a possibility of enhancing the application's effectiveness by incorporating placement automation and college advertisements. Additionally, displaying students' average performance within the college could serve as a valuable feature.
VIII. ACKNOWLEDGE
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my Guide Ms. Pavithra T S for their unwavering guidance, encouragement, and invaluable insights throughout the duration of this project endeavour. Their expertise and mentorship have been instrumental in shaping the direction and quality of our work. Furthermore, I am deeply thankful to PES University for providing access to the necessary resources, facilities, and infrastructure essential for project effectively.
Conclusion
In this paper, the showcased project is capable of effectively communicating with students and lecturers without distractions, focusing solely on education-related communication. It can even send offline SMS messages if users are not online, and facilitates inter-college communication and file sharing, aiding in information exchange as well.
