CityTales aims to provide a platform to users who wish to explore the culturally vibrant city of Pune. This website features religious, historic and scenic locations throughout Pune and also some of its best restaurants. Users are greeted with a friendly interface which is easy to navigate through and are encouraged to engage in discussions in the provided forums. Each location gets an individual forum where users can share their experiences with each other. CityTales also hosts a feedback forum where users can send their feedback directly to the team.
Introduction
I. INTRODUCTION
Pune, a city steeped in history and tradition, holds a treasure trove of cultural heritage waiting to be explored. Our project endeavors to bridge the gap between the past and the digital age by creating an immersive online experience—“CityTales.” Through the seamless integration of web development tools—HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL—we aim to showcase Pune’s vibrant culture, historical landmarks, and local narratives. As we embark on this scholarly journey, envision a virtual exploration that transcends geographical boundaries. Picture meticulously crafted web pages that breathe life into centuries-old stories, architectural marvels, and artistic expressions. Our mission extends beyond mere documentation; it is a celebration of Pune’s legacy—a symphony of pixels and code that resonates with both scholars and curious enthusiasts. In the following sections, we delve into the methodology behind “CityTales,” discuss design choices, and share our results and insights.
II. LITERATURE SURVEY
Given the heftiness of the task of finding relevant places and uploading them, the group had to refer to some research papers. Those included one non-technical and two technical research papers.
VI. ACKNOWLEDGMENT
The authors would like to express their sincere gratitude to Vishwakarma Institute of Technology for providing the opportunity and resources to pursue this project. In addition, the author would like to thank their guide, Prof. Vaishali Rajput, and all faculty members of the DESH department for their support, guidance and invaluable insights throughout the project.
Conclusion
In the culmination of our research journey, we unravel the essence of CityTales.com—a digital portal that transcends mere web pages. Let us reflect on the insights gleaned from our exploration:
Within the virtual walls of CityTales’ discussion forum, a community thrives—a collective of passionate explorers, historians, and culture enthusiasts. Here, ideas converge, critiques find voice, and narratives intertwine. It is more than a comment section; it is a symposium of shared curiosity. The forum underscores the social cause—the preservation of Pune’s cultural fabric. It is not just about bytes and pixels; it is about fostering connections.
As we dissected specific tourist places—their histories, architectural nuances, and hidden stories—we glimpsed the heartbeat of Pune. Each place is a chapter—a testament to resilience, creativity, and the passage of time. These places are not static; they breathe, evolve, and resonate with the footsteps of those who explore them. CityTales plays a crucial role in the tourism industry, and its impact on the residents of Pune City is substantial. It bridges the gap between past and present, inviting us all to be custodians of our heritage.
In summary, our research journey extends beyond data points and analyses; it invites us to become storytellers, advocates, and stewards of culture. CityTales is not just a website; it is an invitation—to explore, to connect, and to celebrate the tapestry of Pune’s past and present.
